The obelisk was created by a group of 7 who were members of Vortex (Vortex was the second largest power on Undif before merging with Shield under threat of annhilation), they had been contacted with THE OBELSIK to create the obelisk as a knowledge conduit. The cave was naturally occuring until the group of seven expanded it for the obelisk. They then built the obelisk.The energy the obelisk produces was then infected with the knowledge.
